When we first met this family at a Home Renovation Show, they weren’t simply looking for a media wall. They were renovating their home and wanted to create a beautiful living space where the family could enjoy films, television, music and sport together.

The media wall wasn’t intended to be the centre of attention. It needed to become a natural part of the room while delivering an entertainment experience that everyone could enjoy, every single day.

Like every iCubed project, we began by understanding how the room would be used rather than immediately discussing products.

This was to become the family’s main entertainment space, balancing everyday television viewing with immersive movie nights and weekends spent together. That understanding shaped every design decision that followed.

The challenge wasn’t simply finding a place for a 98-inch television. It was ensuring a screen of that size felt perfectly balanced within the room, whilst concealing a powerful surround sound system behind a beautifully integrated design.

Only once we understood the experience our clients wanted to create did we begin designing the media wall itself.

To deliver the level of performance the family were looking for, we selected our Immersive Entertainment Experience, discreetly integrating every loudspeaker within the structure of the wall.

Visually, the design combined luxurious Ink Blue acoustic suede, natural oak slatted acoustic panels, brushed gold detailing and carefully considered lighting to create a calm, contemporary focal point that complemented the wider renovation.

Every material was chosen for a reason.

Not simply because it looked beautiful, but because it contributed to an entertainment space that felt warm, welcoming and perfectly integrated within the home.

Completed over four days, the finished room is far more than somewhere to watch television.

It’s where family movie nights begin.

Where friends gather to enjoy live sport.

Where music fills the room without the technology ever becoming the focus.

A media wall should never be designed simply to hold a television. When we begin by understanding how a family wants to enjoy their home, every design decision becomes clearer. When our clients discovered iCubed Media Walls, they wanted to create an inviting entertainment space where films, television and music could be enjoyed together as a family. More importantly, they wanted the finished media wall to feel completely at home within the room rather than becoming its defining feature.

From the very first visit, it became clear that the existing architecture would play a major role in shaping the design.

Exposed beams and limited installation depth meant there was no standard solution. Rather than trying to force a traditional media wall into the available space, we allowed the architecture itself to influence the design.

Understanding how the family intended to use the room also became an important part of the process. Exceptional sound quality remained a priority, but so did maintaining a calm, elegant interior that respected the character of the home.

By allowing the room to lead the design, every decision became clearer.

Instead of following our traditional layout, we created a fully fabric-finished wall that softened the appearance of the room whilst discreetly concealing the immersive surround sound system behind luxurious Moss Green acoustic suede.

The simplified design worked beautifully with the existing beams, creating a balanced focal point without adding unnecessary visual weight. The result is contemporary, understated and perfectly integrated with the architecture of the space.

Sometimes the strongest designs are the ones that feel as though they have always belonged.

Completed over two days, the finished room is both elegant and immersive.

When we work with a home’s existing character instead of against it, the finished space feels more natural, more balanced and ultimately becomes somewhere people genuinely enjoy spending time.

For the first time, we became our own client.

Rather than creating a showroom that simply displayed products, we wanted visitors to experience the difference our approach makes.

Every decision was guided by the same principles we apply in our clients’ homes.

The entertainment experience came first.

The design followed naturally.

The materials were chosen to create warmth, balance and atmosphere.

The technology was carefully integrated so it became part of the architecture rather than the centre of attention.

In many ways, this became the purest expression of the iCubed Design Method.

The completed showroom was designed to demonstrate both our Signature and Signature Plus Entertainment Experiences, allowing visitors to hear and compare the different levels of performance within a real living environment.

Ink Blue acoustic suede, natural oak slatted timber panels and brushed gold detailing create the elegant, contemporary appearance that has become synonymous with iCubed Media Walls. A carefully integrated fireplace completes the space, adding warmth, atmosphere and another layer of everyday enjoyment.

Nothing has been included simply for display.

Every element has a purpose.

More than anything, the showroom allows people to experience what words alone can never fully explain.

They hear how hidden loudspeakers transform films, television and music.

They see how carefully selected materials work together.

They discover that exceptional entertainment doesn’t have to dominate a room to completely change how it feels.

Our philosophy should be visible in everything we create.

Designing our own showroom reminded us that great entertainment spaces are never defined by individual products or finishes. They’re created by understanding how people want to live, bringing together beautiful design and exceptional performance, and ensuring every decision serves the experience rather than the technology.

Every project starts somewhere.

For this client, it started months before we ever met.

Having followed iCubed Home Cinema on Instagram, she had watched numerous videos explaining our approach to designing entertainment spaces. By the time she made contact, she wasn’t searching for someone to build a media wall—she had already decided she wanted to work with us.

That level of trust is never taken for granted.

It comes from consistently sharing knowledge, showing real projects and helping people understand the thinking behind every design.

The ambition wasn’t to create a dedicated cinema room.

It was to create a family entertainment space that captured the atmosphere of a private cinema whilst remaining practical for everyday living.

The room needed a striking focal point, immersive surround sound and a clean architectural appearance that complemented the rest of the home.

Rather than allowing the technology to dominate the room, the design focused on creating atmosphere through carefully balanced proportions, concealed loudspeakers and subtle lighting.

Although completed before the iCubed Media Walls collection was formally created, this project now feels like an important milestone in its evolution.

The layout naturally reflects what would later become our Linear Collection, combining vertical slatted acoustic panels with a central acoustic fabric section that discreetly conceals the television and loudspeakers.

Our Immersive Entertainment Experience was selected to create the scale and emotional impact the client was looking for, while integrated lighting and the star ceiling introduced another layer of atmosphere that transformed the room after dark.

Looking back, it’s easy to see how projects like this helped shape the design language that would later become iCubed Media Walls.

The finished room successfully balances two very different ambitions.

By day, it’s a refined family living space.

By night, it becomes an immersive entertainment room where films, television and music are experienced in an entirely different way.

The technology quietly disappears into the design, allowing the atmosphere of the room to become the lasting memory.
